2001 engine swap to a 97?

does anyone know if u can place a 2001 engine and tranny in a 1997 eclipse gs?

or atleast if its been done?

It's hard to get enough protection for the carpeting and (rather fragile) interior plastic finishers to keep from getting oil stains and dents or holes. You have to be very careful in closing the hatch, because if the glass comes down on the hard metal, or if it shifts while driving, you'll get an instant shower of diamond-like shards (many more than three).
