Im trying to get 2 birds with one stone here:

1) the plastic dust covers that go around the stock shock absorbers are ripped to shreads. after driving for a while, when things get hot and/or the shocks get too dirty, they begin to squeak and 'groan'. the car doesnt handle any differently, but it is noticeable and kinda annoying. if i spray the shocks down with wd40, they shut up for a few days, but the squeaking comes back. is the only solution to this to buy new shocks, or is there a cheaper solution? i would hate to spend money on new suspension, because i really like the feel of the stock suspension.

2) an interesting issue ill try to explain as best I can. when i roll down the window, the rubber weather strip on the INSIDE of the window (rubber piece touching the window where the window first slides into the door. this rubber is there to prevent moisture from getting inside the door when you roll down the window) sticks to the glass, causing it to roll down inside the door along with the glass. this causes the window to get stuck after a certain point, and is not good for the window motor either. when i roll the window back up, this weather strip rolls up also, and is back where it should be when the window is fully up. obviously, you can roll the window down without the strip sticking, but to do so i have to put something slick between the rubber and the glass. any suggestions on how to fix this? has anyone even run into this issue before?

My windows do the same exact thing. Everytime I roll the windows down that rubber piece gos down with the window and it is a PITA to get the window to go back up. I took my door apart looking for something making the glass maybe put pressure on the rubber and pulling it down but found nothing.

what im tempted to do with the window trim is use super glue to glue that piece of rubber to the inside of the door. it shouldnt be noticeable, and wont affect the operation of the door or the window if done correctly. ive actually solved this problem, temporarily, by putting wd40 on the window and rubber, lubricating things just enough so the rubber doesnt get caught on the class. when the wd40 evaporates/dries though, the rubber goes back to sticking to the window. ill tell you if this solves the problem.

How about a dumb idea. Tape. Wouldn't that work? Its pretty slick and if it can be done very well with electrical tape and provided the tape doesn't come off. It wouldn't look half bad right?

i havent run into this issue before, but it sounds like youre talking about the bellows on the struts, and the inner window sill seal.

you can get new bellows and bumps stops on ebay, i got mine there for about 30 bux for all 4 when i got my cheap struts. idk about new sill seals, but i would think jnz might be able to get them if theyre available.

it sounds like the sill seal has worn through its outer layer and is into the "meat" of the rubberized seal, causing it to grip more than slide or squeegy.

honestly, id replace the strut assemblys with new bellows and bumpers and keep the stock springs.

That's why I'm suggesting tape for the window. I'm not saying completely cover the window side of the seal with tape, but to just put enough tape so instead of the window touching the rubber its sliding on the tape....honestly my **** of an ex touched it. And made it f***ing 10 times worse. Didn't have a bad problem. It just squeeked and the window went down. She touched it now it can't roll down. -_-

I think your window if off alignment. Seen it where people get out car holding on glass putting pressure or long time push on glass vs the door closing the door. On window system in door there should be some type of tab or plastic peace when window goes down and reaches it it stops the window. Or the window frame could be slightly bent too. for the time being don't roll your window all way down.[DOUBLEPOST=1408286333][/DOUBLEPOST]You used wd40 on struct wd40 doesn't last that long have you tried grease may work and last longer

The bellows you can get at advance, like I did, they come with new bump stops.

Here are my new struts/springs with bellows from advance and sandblasted/repainted strut hats.

As far as the window molding, mine was all chewed up closest to the side mirror, it had separated and would pinch if you roll up the window.

Lucky for me, JNZ sold me the last new one left. Not just the last one they had, the LAST one in the US, probably the last one on the planet. All you can do now is call stevie miller or find a parts car for a replacement. It is part number MB517827.
