Hey guys whats up,
I think I am having a problem with my hacked 1g maf with my car stalling out. Well my buddy has a 1990 gst so I thought I would try his MAF to see if the problem would be fixed. Well my car is a 92 gsx (6bolt) and my maf looks completely different and even the plug for the MAF is different and has a different number of pins. His Maf is brown and black and mine is all black. So my question is, is their 2 different 1g MAF's. I am going to be soon ordering a GM maf and translator, but if the two 1g plugs are different, then which translator should I order?

Is yours an oval shape? If so you probably have a 2g mas in your car and he has the stock 1g mas. Look in the gallery for pics of the 2g mas and see if thats what you have.

all 1g mafs have two rows of pins, while the 2 and 3 g's have 1 row. Like mentioned above, the oval ones are from a 2g. You should be able to figure it out from the part number on the maf. The only different maf's in 1g's were in galant vr4's. These mafs are brown and are "hacked" from the factory (meaning no lower honeycomb).

Well there is a slight difference between the nonturbo and the turbo 1gmas but not major. I believe the n/t mas are missing one pin on the plug. Im still thinking he has a 2g mas tho.
