am i understanding correctly that to build a 2.3L stroker motor for my 6 golt 4g63 i'll "Need" to have a 6 bolt 2.4l crankshaft? if not. fantastic, 7 bolt cranks are alot easyer to find. if not, does anyone have a link to a website, or know what year of cars these cranks are avaliable.

ps. i've heard mixed results about using "used" crankshafts in a stroker motor, both good and bad. does ayone think it will be a problem if i use an older crankshaft, with a ballance shaft removal on a 91 4g63 if i ballance and blueprint the block with my rods/rings/fly??

you can use a 7 bolt crank ... some people just want to stay away from them all together becasue of the dreaded and overfeared "crankwalk" Why people buy 7 bolt evo8s then I don't know ....

Get ahold of slowboy they have new and USED 2.4 cranks on there website, I think you can pick up a good used one for $350

Wow, just wow.

A 7bolt crank isn't going into his 6 bolt.

The evo 8 motors are completely different from the 2g 7bolts.

Lot's of smart people have built up their 1g 7bolts.

I have a 6 bolt 2.4 liter crank that came out of my 90 mighty max. The problem is that the rods are the same lenghth as the 4g63 engine. Therefore, to allow a longer stroke, Mitsu used a higher deck height to allow clearance, at least in this particular 4g64. Theoretically, this crank would work, but with shorter rods. (no, mine is not for sale)

well. what i know is the 4g63 crank has a 88mm storke, and the 4g64 has a 100mm stroke. the deck height in the 4g64 is 9mm higher then the 4g63. but the rods are the same lenght in both. soo. will a 7bolt 4g64 crankshaft work in a 6bolt stoker motor?

NO

You CANNOT use a 7-bolt crank of ANY sorts in a 6-bolt block. You'll need a 6-bolt crank for a 6-bolt block and a 7-bolt crank for a 7-bolt block. End of story.

galants had a 2.4 crank that was 7 bolt,sonatas had 7's i beleive,expo,mighty max truck had 6.

you can use the spyder 7 botl crank in a 7 botl block. all 7's are the same but different from the 6's.

slowboy sells the cranks.

The 89-91 Hyundai G4CS is a 6 bolt engine, not a 7 bolt.

The G4CS is a 6-bolt design, and some of the 4G64's are a 6-bolt design. 6-bolt crank with 6-bolt block, 7-bolt crank w/a 7-bolt block. They're not interchangable.

yea i wasnt 100% sure on the sonata crank so i just listed it in there.

slowboy has ones with bearings for liek 350 bucks, thats where im gettin my crank from somewhat soon

When I boughty the mighty max i rebuilt the 2.4 using a machined crank that came with the proper bearings. I paid $250 locally in Phoenix from Motor Replacement Company.

oh ... I thought he was asking if there is a 6 bolt and a 7 bolt variation of a 4g64 and why to not use a 7 bolt ... didn't realize this crank was going into his 2.0 6 bolt block... oops

I havent heard anything bad about using a turned crank, i have heard bad about using a remanded WELDED crank....
