OK i am getting ready to start my 2.4 storker build and what to know what u guys think i am missing. my goal is for a 10 1/4mile time. well i am going with the 2.4 storker. the rods are gonna be eagle rods and wiseco pistons. everything is going to be put tegther with ARP bolts. the crank is going to be knife edged and the head is getting fully ported. the valves will be a OEM stainless steel valves and the valve springs and retainers are Si duel.the head will be arp studed also. the cams will be hks 272s and the head gasket is the cosmetic head gasket. it has a 50 trim turbo and the injectors are 680s. the fuel pump is a 255 high flow. it will all be controlled by dsm link. it has a sperco fmic. it also getting a co2 system to cool intake air temps. the tranny will be fully built with a welded center diff. the clutch is a act 2900. thats about it if u think i need any thing els or that i left something out let me know. Also if u think i am going the wrong way on my build for the goal i want to achieve let me know to.

2.4 isn't a stroker, do some more research and your question will be answered.

Im also not so sure how far down the 1/4 mile timesheets a 50-trim will take you. 10-second passes are usually going to be handled by a little bit bigger snail than that.

Hmm. Tell that to Joe Bucci. He recently took his car into the deep 10's powered by a 14b, thats right, a 14b. So don't say a 50 trim can't take you there.

He didn't say "can't". He said he wasn't sure how far the 50 trim would take him, and he's right. For 99.9% of people a 50 trim or a 14b or a 16g won't get you into the 10's or even 11's.

Yes, I know how far people have gone on the turbos, just not the average joe. :dsm:

a 50 trim won't get you into the 11's??? WTF I don't know where people got the idea that they have to have these huge freakin turbos that don't spool it past 5k to run 11's! A huge turbo isn't what makes your times, its the supporting mods, good tuning, and good driving. No dsm needs a turbo bigger then a 50 trim to run 11's with.

I wish i would have got my car to the track this summer before my transmission blew and got some slips. But after i got my setup put together this year and all tuned it my car was screamin mad and just flying through the gears. My transmission only lasted for 3 days after that though and i completly destroyed 4th gear. I'm going to have a fresh race rebuild from TRE for the next season though.

ok haha dont thred jack i was wondering what els u all were thinking i needed hha turbo will be upgraded later and cant afford to do it right now. but this tubo will talk me into the 10s. peoplr here have got 12s our of a 20g that cant hold more then 18psi

Funny, the motor you are going to put together is excactly what I have...except for the cams. Im going with the FP3xs as soon as Feb gets here. A couple of other things you could do are the following, if you dont already have them:

Fuel pressure regulator
Stiffer springs and struts
Driveshaft shop axles, built diff and T-case
Good tuning (2 step, maps, etc)
Good driving (letting out clutch, shifting, using the gas pedal...LOL)

Happy tuning! :talon:

I agree with you, but 90% of people can't drive well enough to get their 50 trim cars into the 11's. I've seen built evo's run 16's, I've seen a 2.4 with a 3575 and a ton of other mods run consistent mid 12's. A 50 trim is probably not going to get most people into the 10's, especially a bolt on mitsu style 50 trim.
