ok new year equals new build just dont know wich way to go .

2.3 or 2.0?

goals for the car =
550awhp on 93 pump gas
750+on race gas

i know 2.3 will make more torque but wont be able to rev as high, either way the motor will have wisco 1400hd pistons and manley rods

just want to see would wich setup would be better

correct me if i'm wrong, but the wiseco HD's arent stroker pistons. they can only be used with 2.0

if you build the 2.3 the right way you can rev it out to 8500-9k. the torque will be nice with the stroker. your transmission may not like it as much, but the quicker spool is nice for the streets.

personally, i will be doing a 2.0 this time around. although i didnt get the chance to finish up my 2g stroker build i want to do an aluminum rod 2.0 now and rev it to the moon on my gvr4.

i didnt know there were no hd 1400 pistons for stroker motors from what ive been told the only difference from the hd and regular wiscos are bigger wrist pins.....i also have a gvr4 LOL 1033/2000

597/1000 :D

and like i said, maybe im wrong about the HD's. i personally dont remember seeing any for stroker applications. but like 1fastlaser said, i am sure wiseco would be more than willing to make a set for you ($)

after driving an '04 aluminum rod, gt37r evo i became a fan of a light weight rotating assembly that revs up like a street bike! needless to say, i fell in love.

550 on a good tune will be easy with the right turbo.

I made 621 on 30psi straight 93 pump, no meth or anything with a pretty conservative tune I had setup.I had some issues that I fixed, and I wouldnt doubt its around 650+ now.

It revs quick, so in turn, does it feels as the engine is a stroker?
When I build an engine, I would want a stroker, because my car is a DD/street car.

Don't who told a stroker can rev up to 9k. More like 8000 maybe 8500 if it's professional built. Mind you rev it to 8500 constant will shorten the life of the block, but if it could rev 9k I'd be all over a stroker

It's doubtful you'll be making 550 HP is straight pump gas and you consider the cheap Eagle H-beam rods because they can handle the power you're looking to making because you'll be in desperate need of money if you're shooting for 750 HP.

You can rev out stroker motors out more than 8k or 8.5k. Why do you think you cannot? There's many people that do it on a regular basis. I plan on revving mine a little above 8.5k this next year, mabye longer.

Why do you say that. The right tune, and a 6765 will make over 600 if the tunes right on STRAIGHT 93 pump. Like I said I made 621 on 30psi Straight 93 octane pump gas, no meth/alcohol/water/ beer injection.

This is on a g4cs 2.4 basic bs eagle rods/wiesco standard pistons. I built the motor 3 years ago now. Im sure since I fixed some vacuum leaks its making closer to the 650 up range not even pushing the setup. Figure the motor is making over 700hp.

It's not only the engine that you have to take into consideration. We all know that Mitsubishi did a horrible job with our transmissions (at best). Torque kills them (with a high rev. shifts coming in a close 2nd). Is this car going to be your DD? Pump gas is going to limit you on compression, also if your looking for a usable power band for street driving, your going to want a turbo with a billet wheel (hta35r from FP would fit the bill nicely. I saw Curt Brown (aka Jesus of the DSM world) did 650awhp with one. Although it's probably not easily replicated.

9:0.1 compression here. I daily drive my car frequently. Powerband on a journal bearing 4294 comes online at 4200, I hit full boost (30psi) 5k. Its as easy as pie to drive around, besides the twin disk/1550cc injectors/aem.

Its no offence but alot of people say you shouldnt do this, or you cant do that, because they have never got there, or done it themselves.

Raufs car went 9.06@164 on a basic built syncro box with evo3 3rd/4th
From my understanding his car is making over 750 lbs of torque 920 plus hp. Its inevitable your gonna break a factory trans eventually beating on it. We all wanna make more power, but you eather gotta learn how to build the trans yourselve to save you money when it breaks, get a dogbox, or go auto. I have 2 spare trans ready to go.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, but looking for 550 HP is a mighty tight tune and I find it ridiculous to have a DD being push to the brink of destruction. It would just be a lot easy to run on e85 and I don't which hocus pocus dynamometer you'll be running 700 WHP on pump. Maybe 700 HP to the crank.

Whats it have to do with a daily making 600hp? Its not like you are driving around full throttle all day. Key word was " Figure the motor is making over 700hp" motor aka crank.

I tuned it, the brink of destruction would be not monitoring knock, and know what kind of timing/a.fs you can get away with. Right now My knock counts on aem at 33psi on 93 is 1.5 to 2.0 volts which can be considered driveline knock, and anything else making noise. Ive been on this setup for a year now. I was even running a straight felpro head gasket with standard arps at 28psi, went 10.95@134 on straight pump 1.95 60 foot, and 12 degrees of timing. 25psi.

Head gasket finally let go, but it was minor. One of the coolant jackets got a burn though to cylinder 1, but that was 3 years on that gasket, 2 on a 60-1 26 27 on straight pump of constant abuse. Now my heads o-ringed.

This is all on 2.5 ic pipes, and a ss autochrome front mount, and my intake temps, and probably better then some 900 dollar percision front mounts. Theres nothing mighty about the tune. 13 degrees peak timing 11.2-11.5 a/fs. You could even copy my map I dont care LOL.

Every motors gonna be different, but with a good tune, the motor built right, and the right turbo its completly possible.

I drive around alot, cruise the crank, romp on it when I want and go to the track.

You're throwing the OP off course. His goal is 550 HP to the WHEEL not the the CRANK. There is a huge difference between to the crank and to the wheel.

I would probably guesstimate your 621 HP to the CRANK would be somewhere around low to mid 400 to the WHEEL.

No I made 621 at the WHEELS...after that dyno day I had some issues that I fixed with a vacuum leak with the electronic boost controller, and a exhaust manifold leak which picked up my spool by 3-400 rpms, and now spins at 60mphs at 3rd on the highway. Thats were im guessing if I put it back on the dyno now would make closer to 650 or so, and and the crank/motor is making over 700 with drivetrain loss.

In the same thing, regarding to the post 550+ will be easy on pump, if not more with a 6765, and the spool up especially on a 2.3 will be nasty. Nothing wrong with a 2.0 eather. Its all what you wanna try.

I HAVE A 20G EAGLE/ROSS 2.0 SETUP RUNS GREAT I JUST WANT MORE ....MONEY AINT SHIT WHEN IT COMES TO MY CARS :thumb:

And im not worried about the tune ..my tuner (chris miller) has the worlds fastest street trim honda hes gone 8.50 with a fastest speed of 181 ,plus he tunes many other cars that hold records

fastest allmotor street trim honda ----k series bubble 10.40 at over 130
made over 1000awhp on pump gas on a 3000gt

theres many other cars he built ,hes the best at what he does

Agreed!! :thumb: I was thinking the safe limit was maybe 8000 pushing it. Just ask Magnus, Buschur, SBR, ect.

Because Kiggy himself said it was stupid because it starts to oval out the bores and doesnt help that the pistons have shorter skirts. He has gone farther then anyone with a 2.3 I think id take his word. Hopefully you research and re think your rev limit or build before you ruin a good block.

If you want a better powerband and more displacement look into a 2.1 or a 2.2 build.
