Ok. i was talkin to a few people and i happen to over hear a convo about taking a Chrysler Labaron*sp* 2.2 and that you can take the turbo off that and it bolts right up to the 1.8.. and you can also use the wastegate and intercooler.. just need to have someone make a manifold.. anyone heard of this or try it.. just hit me back with some comments.. like i said.. i heard them talkin about this.. not something im doin

if you just need someone to make a manifold, then it doesnt bolt right up. thats the part that would bolt right up if there compatable. turbos are pretty much universal, and so are intercoolers if you have the room for them. its piping and manifolds that are application specific, unless you make your own. and the wastegate is internal isnt it? so its just part of the turbo.
 
youll fry the 1.8 internals and the compression isnt made for boost.



that motor will jump out of your hood and smack you then die and burn
 
see i didnt think it would hold either.. but thats what i heard them saying.. so just tryin to get different opinons on the idea.. thanks for the replys
 
you can get some je's made for the 1.8 but thats only for running more than 9 psi of boost, they can handle boost but not much, i wouldn't push it past 8 tho, and to lower the compression u use 2 headgaskets.
 
correct me if I'm wrong but I dont even think the Lebaron came intercooled, most of those '80's turbo dodges didnt.

ya thats what i was thinkin cause my dads daytona wasn't intercooled and the turbo was on the back on the engine
