Halifax,
When i first bought my laser a month ago i was real easy on it now ive been revving it right up to about 6 thousand and playing quite a bit. 180 kph is not an uncommon speed for me. Now when i bought the car the oil pressure stayed between the you know that little tick thing on it and the higher one but now lately idle ( stop signs ) it drops to L 98% of the way down only when i rev it up does it go to barly above the little tick mark.
I plan on changing the oil out on monday Im going to put in a Fram Oil filter with Mobil 1 10w-30 and one bottle of lucas stabalizer and see if that helps.

Also on the front of the engine like on the front left side of the block every once and a while there is a wet spot under it i rub my fingers in it and smell and it has no smell but it has me worried.

Change your oil. And don't use Lucas Oil Stabilizer. I know some people say it reduces the tick, but I substituted 1/4 of a bottle for 1/4 quart of oil, with basic 5W-30 and it made my lifter tick worse. A LOT WORSE! I drained that gunk out the next day and put in Quaker State High Mileage 5W-30 and the tick went back to its normal, light tick.

When you notice your oil pressure hanging around the first tick mark and barely moving under acceleration, you know its time to change the oil. For me, thats around 3,500 miles (whatever that is in kilometers). Low oil pressure can damage your motor over time. Also, measure how much oil you drain out of the motor when you change it. Last time I only drained 1.5 quarts, and I always add 4 when I change it. But I don't burn oil, weird...

"If its clear and yella, you got coolant there fella.
If its dark and brown, you're in oil town."

Sorry, I got that quote from the Simpsons, only it was about apple cider. :)

Check your thermostat housing, all the sensors and stuff. Check your front water pipe and hoses. There could be leak that is only present under pressure, like the high temps of revving hard. Or if its darker, like oil, check the valve cover gasket. Heck, a buddy of my (Project ES) had the worst problem with cam seals, although that's on the other side of the motor... So it could be anything.

Fram oil filters are junk. Get an AC Delco or a Purolator. Just thought i'd throw that in there for the love of DSM's. :thumb: :laser:

Yeah, and Pennzoil will corrode aluminum. Or, if you go far enough north, aluminium.

Don't spread myths you know nothing about. Fram filters are better than anyone needs. Wix may be "best", depending on what you think makes for a good filter design.

And
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/
be damned. That "study" is fine for that particular batch of filters bought on that specific day in those specific stores. But you know what goes on the the filter (and thousands of others) industry? "We need a run of filters. Print our name on them. Submit your bids."
There's no way to tell what filter you're getting, and it wouldn't matter if you could. Once an engine is dropping chunks big enough that a filter's doing anything, it's alread toasted.
Frams are fine.

i'm with defiant on this one i have owned 63 DSM's since i was 14(most of them i wrecked due to being a kid or just sold them) and i have used damn near every oil filter known to man in the continental united states.
I have even used those really expensive ones, figuring they worked better, but that damn K-n-N didnt work no better than any FRAM filter did, and they r cheap at wal-mart ..
