thanks everyone (especially Defiant and 1.8laser90) :)[/QUOTE]

no problem ;)
next oil change try lucas, its a additive that u use to boost your oil pressure. i've heard it works really good... i think i've seen it at parts stores like autozone or advance.. :thumb:

I dropped my '91 Eclipse 1.8L off at the Mitsu dealer on Monday for the low oil pressure problem. They have had it for 3 days now, and told me they are waiting for help from Mitsubishi itself because they can't figure it out either. I'll keep everyone posted as to the culprit. :dsm:

Yeah, I did the same thing. That's only reason I felt ok driving it to the dealer because I knew it had positive pressure. I still want the guage to work otherwise I won't know if and when the oil pump goes. Noboby likes a siezed engine. ;)

What type of guage? Where did you mount it? Where did you get the guage from? If the dealer can't figure it out ( very conceiveable at this point), I'm gonna do the same thing I think. :dsm:

Here's the update fellas. The dealer had the car for a week and they finally told me, after talking with the Mitsubishi service tech line, that it would be more cost effective to put and after market gauge in and go from there. If that doesn't work, then it is something serious, i.e..oil pump. They refunded my money and we called it even. No harm no foul. Oh well, should have did that from the begining and saved myself a week. Don't know if that really helps anyone, but my advice would be to try that and see what happens. :thumb: :dsm:

Also just a bit of information for everyone with this problem. You should know that I have encountered many problems with the misidentification of oil pressure sending unit at my local parts stores. They have the low level sender under the pressure sender. So, for all those that have replaced your 'sender', you should know that the pressure sender has a good sized cannister on it. Just thought I would pass that on. :thumb:
