I have a 1ga dsm with the pop up headlights and I am not satisfied with the light output.

I have been doing research on how to do it but I'm getting mixed reviews that some say it blinds other drivers and some say they just don't work very well. I've only seen one guide for the Hid conversion for a 1ga dsm and unfortunately the pictures on the how to guide are not showing up and a picture is worth a thousand words.

Does anyone know how to properly set these up on a 1ga so the light doesn't blind people?

Another thing to keep in mind is I don't care for the colored blue green Hids, I'm only interested in good lighting so I probably want to stay in the 4300 range.

Thanks in advance for the help

Supporting vendor SharpHID sells conversion for our 1ga cars. I bought them for mine and I love them, literally a night and day difference.

Here is a link to what I bought. Installation is simple and you can't beat the price. These are from Hella so they are a quality piece unlike the ones on Ebay.
Hella 164x103mm (4x6) E-Code H4 High/Low Beam Sealed Beam Conversion

Here is a thread that I suggest you read, It gives all of the info and what accessories to purchase. It also has a couple pictures.

Make sure you grab a new projector headlight housing from eBay to make the lights fit. keep in mind if you can't find them for your car any 4x6 housing will work. I installed HIDs on my laser.

You want to make sure you have projectors because stock headlights come with reflector beams, they scatter everywhere and that is what blinds people. the projectors are there so you can aim the light to the ground. Also I believe most 1ga headlights are sealed beam so your going to have to get a new housing anyway. I ordered my kit from simplyhidkits.com and they were extremely cheap and worked amazing. If you need any help during installation PM me I will guide you through the process as it can be some what confusing.

If you want I can post pictures of my final product.

EDIT;
I posted the pics anyway :p

and that's the kind of HID housing that blinds the oncoming drivers.
you NEED A CUTOFF!
do some research into projector cutoff design.
REAL hid projectors FOCUS the light to hit a pre determined light beam distance WITHOUT blinding other drivers.
ebay "projectors housings" only LOOK like real projectors. they do not simulate the real projector effect.

to do hid's proper, you need a projector housing with a cutoff line. this will give you your desired light output and distance of the light being projected. otherwise your headlight just barfs out unfocused hid light.
i will post pictures tonight of what i had to do to get PROPER hid's in my 1ga talon.

dammit.

please post a link to 4x6 cutoff projector lights.....

ohhh. you can't find any can you? I didn't think so.

Order the eBay projector housing and put a plastic line across the top if you feel it be necessary otherwise, keep them on. I've never gotten complaints, brights flashed at me, anything.

But I'm not trying to argue, im simply stating to be more critical to something that I put my time and money into. if you haven't seen my lights personally, then you don't know what they are or if they blind people LOL.

Thanks for the links, can you post a picture or two of your lights?

Here are a few from another member that has those exact ones. I can't find any of mine at the moment. I can't stress enough how nice these are, I wouldn't touch those Ebay ones with a 10ft pole ( no offense to anyone). If you have any questions about them, I would email him [email protected]
