hi,
i am interested in putting 18" motegi MR-7 wheels on my 1991 plymouth laser. my only problem is i do not know if they will fit in the wheel well with tires. if anyone out there has 18" wheels on their laser....please let me know so and also tell me what size tire you have on the wheel. i would also like to know how snugly they fit in the wheel well. if 18's dont fit i guess i will have to go for 17 inch wheels. what is a good size tire that would fit a 17" wheel?

you work at a warehouse, yet your horribly wrong,... if that was true, a 30 would be taller than a 45.... which it isnt...
215/30= 7.1666666666

while 215/45=4.777777

so the 45 would be smaller.... nice try tho.... but its the percent, the larger the percent, the larger the tire.... and most aftermarket truck tires go by the (#### i forgot the name....) american? system, whatever the hell inches and all that stuff is a part of.... and they go by tire hieght, rim size, and one other dimension that slipped my mind because it doesnt really matter

my friend has a set of falken rims, there "18x"8 with 235/40/18 tires. im not sure how they will fit or if they will rub or not. I have coilovers so itll be lowered some but nothing drastic. tell me how and if it will work.

i think it would have to do more with offset than width or diameter. so whats the offset? that will help other answer you better.

It will have alot to do with offset but it you stick with the same offset as the stock wheels it shoud work because the new tire size of 235/40-18 are only 1.18" wider and the overall diameter is only .50 taller which are average numbers for all tires that size. so they should work as long as you stay with the stock offset or just a hair smaller offset. hope this helps ya out.

heck youve got coilovers so just adjust it so they dont rub. thats what i did and mine are working fine.

it shouldnt be a problem, i have 19x8.5's with a 35 offset and my shit rarely rubs.

Simple question. What offset do I need to run 225 wide tires? I'm looking at +42mm 17.x7 wheels right now. I know the 225's the original owner had on the stock rims rubbed on the suspension, so I'd like to avoid that.

Also what would be the correct aspect ratio for the tires? My beloved Miata.net tire calculator is down right now.

Not all of the 2g turbo models come with the 16s. The 2gb awd dsm's come with 17" rims. I think he was asking about 1g's though. So 1g's do come with 16's.

my 97 eclipse GS has 18s on it and the tire size is 225 40 18 they look very nice. i just thought that the stock 16s were a little to small so i went ahead and went with 18s. kinda rough ride think they might be a little to big so i would go with 17s if i had to buy new rims
