1G vs. 2G

They both have there pro's and con's. I own a 1g but i still got much luv for the 2g owners. My next car is going to be a 2g eclipse gsx

i have a 92 talon esi, and a 97 eclipse RS, the talon has headers, hybrid gsx cams, and a cold air intake, and my eclipse rs with only a cold air intake would eat it hands down, the talon weighs just under 3000 and the eclipse weigh just over 2700, 135hp stock for talon, 145 stock for 97 eclipse, although i have never lined them up side by side i think my eclipse would not only beat it in speed, but in a car show as well, sometimes its not all about how fast your cars is, its about how u stand next to it.....

Um. A non-turbo 92 Talon weighs in at 2690 and a non-turbo 2nd Gen Eclipse RS weighs in right at 2844. Also the 2nd Gen has 140hp, not 145. The 1G comes out with a better HP/Weight ratio.

www.nadaguides.com will tell you the weight of everycar ever, i also have mitchell on demand that gives me all the horse power specs

my brother had 1g eclipses for years and i remember when my neihbor got his 98 gs it had like 30,000 miles on it and my bros 92 had like 80,000 and was bone stock and he woop his @ss every time , and i still do with my 93 n/t with my timeing down and nitrous off, 1g kicks @ss, 2g owners watch to much fast and furious go play with your nnnnnnnnooooooooooooossssssssssssssssss and nowon heres 2g n/t will touch 1g ill put money on that no matter how big your rims our or how girlish it looks or how loud your radio is ill still spank you at every light

Even if you are right (and while there is this much snow on the ground, who can race to tell the difference), all 2Gs clean up in the suspension department. Sorry, but a panhard linkage in the rear with a solid axle beam is not the latest and greatest in suspension setups. I prefer the 4 wheel multilink (which is fully independant, by the way) to a strut based front and a solid axle. These are nimble imports, and not Mustangs. So retire the '20s suspension already.

Besides, I have never lost to a 1GNT. Ever.
