1g turbo setup on a 97 RS?

Im posting under my friends name and he told me to use this site because every one on this site has been very helpful to him. he has a 92 AWD laser and i have a 92 FWD talon. The talon just fell off its last leg, its done. Im tired of dealing with it so yesturday i purchased a 97 RS. i searched alot of sites and wasnt satisfied with the information i got. i was wanting to know if it was at all possible to put the turbo setup from my 1g talon on to the RS or what parts i can use/ have to get to get the job done. If it isnt a possible or practical up grade should i go for a 4g63 swap or just build up the 420a? thanks.

Nothing is usable from the 1g (except maybe the turbo itself?). General consensus is swapping a 4g63 where there was a 420a is not worth the time and money involved, for the platform you get. The 420a is a capable engine.

It would be cheaper to make power with the 420a you already have.

kh730, warn your friend that without building the lower end of the engine he CANNOT run higher than 8psi safely.
