ok so this is my second dsm. this time going to a 92 tsi auto. couple of issues that i have!


1 Car will not idle right. with the recirculation tube on the bov the car has no power whatsoever. when its off has power but lags. if i come to a stop sign car will just die off and not start then take a minute or two to turn over.. any sugestions?


2. found out theres no tranny fluid in the car so im getting some more now but car would not shift gears properly with o/d on with it off rpms are higher but car will actually move.

3. there also is a crack in the manifold on the car wondering if its best to switch it out asap or its not gonna be a problem

any questions or concerns will help me out bc i plan on getting this in great runnig shape over the cource of this week.. thanks

NOTE: as per above i forgot to mention the car is completely stock no mods at all. 2nd owner only 112k had its timing belt and rebuilt tranny previous owner was an elderly woman whos owned it since 1992.
 
Beats me with the other issues but the crack isn't that important unless its big and deep. Bit of corset you have to change it eventually
 
recirc tube off, it runs better? Sounds to me like its stupid rich for whatever reason.

Check fuel pressure, plugs, man check it all!!!!!

unless it simply has a bad maf.
 
ya im getting new plugs and wires and cleaning the maf around 430 when i off of work.. we put tranny fluid in the car and tranny stop leak and the car only works in park, reverse and neutral? is that in limp mode then?
 
if it was in limp mode you would have one forward gear..3rd i believe. all solenoids turned off is 3rd iirc.

what do you mean it only works in PRN? does it stall in drive? or just not move? what happens in forward.
 
car drove yesterday earlier but it was very slow til 3rd gear then took off. now putting it into drive the car will not go it will just sit there and not move like it doesnt engage into drive at all. i cleaned the maf sensor got the plugs and wires coming in now my next step is to take out the tcu and check that out?!? also would a wrong ecu be the problem.. i was looking at the one ecu and it says 90 1.8 would a wrong ecu make my car run like shit
