1g to 2g proportioning valve and/or MC upgrade w/big brakes

Hi, I did a search on this topic already and so far I'm not really sure about the benefits of upgrading the proportioning valve from a 90AWD to a later model AWD such as 93 and on. From what I see this will decrease the front clamping power but if I upgraded the front brakes to the 2 piston calipers isn't this desirable?

Also I found that the 90AWD master cylinder is a smaller diameter and the 91 and later is bigger. Should I change both the MC and the proportioning valve or is it built into the MC? If not where are these located on the car? Thanks!
 
Ok, I think I found the proportioning valve(s) by tracking the brake lines and it seems like there's some kind of splitter on the firewall more to the driver side of the car. Is this it?

My questions still stand though, should I upgrade the mentioned parts to bring the front/rear pressure distribution closer to 50/50 now that I have larger front brakes?
 
If you swapped your calipers for some with more piston surface area, you need to pump more fluid for the same amount of pad movement. The pedal would have more travel but with less resistance. You might benefit from an MC/valve swap.
 
Sorry to raise the dead but people are always bitching about searching so I did. Anyway I have the same questions as the original poster. Where is the valve located and what needs to be changed? And what vendors sell the needed parts.


P.S. I'm going from the 1990 brake setup to a later duel piston first gen setup, not a 2g brake setup.
