1G to 2G Motor only swap, can it be done?

I currently have a buddy that has a 92 1.8 GS 5sp. I found a 95 Talon 2.0 Auto. Is it possible to do a motor swap and keep the trans the same? I want to make a 95 talon 1.8 Auto and a 92 2.0 5sp can it be done without MAJOR mods? Thanks.

Nope since the 92 1.8L is a MITSU 4G37 (or 4G67?? i forget the exact code) and the talon 2.0 is a CHRYSLER 420A - you can't even (well with a lot of time and $$ you can) swap a mitsu 4G37 or w/e and a 4G63T (turbo 2.0L) or a chrysler 420a and 4G63T. Two different animals there buddy.

Can we do a full motor and tranny swap then? We are wanting to do this because we're picking up the talon for $150 all it needs is a radiator, core support and hood. The engine thats sitting in it is a 4G63, he wants that in his eclipse because hes tired of his low power 1.8 but he still wants the 5sp. Plus his wife wants a 2g, but she wants an automatic.
