I'm looking to swap a 1g throttle body to my 95gsx and would like to hear from some of you who've done it... How hard? How long? Did it make much difference? Is it much harder to do a complete throttle body/intake manifold swap? Exactly which throttle bodies work? I like to consider myself a decent mechanic as I have installed everything that is on my car except the exhaust...

yes worth it. My trap speeds increased 3-4 mph on average. Install was about 2 hours but we were taking our time with it. If you rush through it maybe a little over an hour is doable. What do you mean throttle body / intake manifold swap? The intake manifold is a pain in the ass because there are a few bolts that are hard to reach. Throttle body is super easy. Take off battery and upper intercooler pipes to give you some room. There will be 2 coolant lines. Pull those off. The clips might be a pain in the ass. Then unplug all the harnesses and slide the throttle body off. Keep track of the vaccum hoses. Next, take the new gasket and mark off on the intake manifold how big the hole needs to be. Take a bunch of rags and shove them in the manifold to protect it from the metal shavings. Take a die grinder and enlarge the hole. Just check it every once in a while to make sure you keep it round and don't make it too large or out of round. Once the hole is done vaccum or blow out the shavings. Take your tps from your 2g throttle body and install it on the 1g. Take the 1g and gasket and bolt it to the intake manfold. Reconnect the 2 coolant lines. Plug in all the harnesses. Replace all the vaccum lines with longer ones. On the throttle body cap off the angled pin for the vaccum lines and cap off E. Then take a new line from P on the throttle body and 'T' it off. Connect this to P and E. The last line plug it in to the same letter it was plugged in on the old throttle body ( I forgot which one it was ) Put the battery back in and adjust the TPS. Then reconnect your intercooler pipes and you're good to go. You'll feel a lot better top end. Enjoy.

its worth the 30 dollars.

I have the slips to prove it .... sure the temperature plays a role and how the car is running that day but it was just like any other test and tune and from the point of the swap forwards the times were 3 mph faster ... about

Is there anything in particular I should look for in purchasing a TB? Is there anything I should fix/replace/rebuild on the older TB before I put it on like seals or anything? (besides the 2 main gaskets... obviously)

I've got a 1G JDM throttle body that I don't need. It's got 30k miles on it. On the TPS (which, from what I read, you won't need), the upper plastic part where the screw goes in is busted, but the sensor still sits rather snug. PM me if you're interested/want pictures.

when i took my tb off to clean it, i had to remove my cruise control box from the firewall to get the tb off. nobody mentioned this, might i be only my car?

just dont get a 1990.

What's wrong with the 90?

And get a hold of a TB before the 5th if you want help with that install.
We can install your TB and port my shit at the same time!
