1G Throttle Body on 2G Intake Manifold

Hello everyone,

I got a freshly rebuilt 1G TB at my house so that when I get a IM I already have it. Now since it will still be a bit before I get an IM, I wanna know if it's worth putting in the 1G TB with a 2G IM. However the manifold I can pair it with already has the TB area ported to match a 1G TB or at least close enough. The labor I do myself so I'm not worried about it. You guys think it's worth it, should I see any gains?

***NOTE: The current IM on the car is a completely stock, unported 2G IM.***

Why not? Its just the cost of some rtv to change the tb and an extra 5mm will help

Actually the 1g tb is 60mm, and the 2g tb is 50mm..Unless it modded..You should see some gains but might not be tha noticable..But if you already have the parts why not throw it on and see if you can notice any gains...

The 2g throttle body is 52mm, FYI.

I highly doubt you'd really notice much of a gain, to be honest.

Yeah I figure I should pick up at least a small gain. I know this is an area that is super restrictive on the 2G's, so any improvement in that area should yield a gain, even if a small one.

Well 2 mm isn't a big deal..But it's a big deal to me that I thought it was 50mm..

I just measured both, the 2g is 53.2 the 1g is 59.9

Because you use a coupler instead of a gasket on the inlet.

One less gasket, since you don't use a throttle body elbow.
