:Dhey thank you for reading!! i got a 1g talon N/A couple days ago and have couple questions, i am new to DSM.

1. What problems do ungapped plugs cause? guy before me did not gap plugs. i am going to gap them but, i want to know what problems come from this other then missfire. Would it give a rough idle? would it make the car harder to start?

2. What Problems does a bad MAF cause on these car? would a bad maf cause rough idleing and hard starts? Heres is my problem if my maf is connected in the morning when its cold it will not start. I have to have my MAF disconected and spray starting fluid for it to start. If i connect it back on the idle drops down to around 550 rpms and dies. one time i plugged it in it idle perfect for about 5 min it was 750+100-100 and then it got all crazy going up to 900 and 1200 and back down to 600 and then just at 500 to the point it will stall and if i disoncet it runs better wont stall. so i am suspecting it is a bad MAF? am i correct? would it be causeing hard starts? it wont start in the morning with out starting fluid , or when left to sit. i cheeked the connections on my Coolant sensor and they seem fine but i havent cheeked voltage on it.

If you can answer my questions i would greatly appreciate it!! thanks !!:D

1. Ungapped plugs can indeed cause those problems, though it is unlikely. If you are going to pull the plugs, you might as well replace them. It is only going to be about $12. It is better to gap new plugs anyway.

2. A bad MAF can cause a bunch of seemingly random and unrelated issues. It can definitely cause all of the problems you are describing. I would swap it out for a known good one and see what happens. Time for a trip to the junkyard.

Good luck and hope this helps!
