Hey guys, building another 1g dsm. I'm swapping a manual to auto car.

I bought a auto engine harness and interior harness. The weird thing is, with this new interior harness, there are no wires going to the rear 6x9 speaker areas?

It's a 91 car and I have a 91 harness. The part number shows it's out of a auto 91 Canada car. Mb686840. I'm deleteing the seatbelts anyways its just a matter of getting the speakers wired in.

Finding diagrams and pictures has proven difficult as many have been deleted over the years. I found a factory catalog with 600+ pages that shows all part numbers and breakdowns but not wiring schematics. Just not sure what I'm missing or where the speakers are supposed to get the wiring from?

The original harness has around 12 wires that cross over to the passenger side and has audio built into it. This one only has 5, so if it doesn't get audio from this part where is it supposed to?

1G's came in various trim levels and not all had rear speakers. Usually companies decide to reduce the number of harnesses by including all the wires but I guess not in our case.

The FSM only shows the most involved wiring here rather than diagrams for each.
Most cars didn't have the external amp so you won't find that wiring in them. You can see that the wires your looking for start at the radio connectors and run to the rear speaker locations.

I don't know the part number for the harness you're looking for but I hope this helps.

So I actually took my multi meter out and found where the wires are headed. There is a speaker wire already to the driver rear.

But the passenger side rear speaker wires head towards the passenger door. It's strange.

It's like I'm missing a harness to go to the back.

If you look at the diagram is show the RS having C-17 between C-23 and E-15 at the rear. These diagrams show where C-17 connects and that E-15 looks like it's part of another bundle on the right.

BTW, these diagrams are from the manuals that can be found on the site.

If you don't have them or the paper books they were scanned from, you should.

Been here 15 years and just finding these LOL, ita funny I was searching something the other day, and I found a thread with myself answering the question over 10 years ago.

I think I've forgotten more than I know now haha.
