1g on a 1g in a 2g help

so a little backround i bought my gsx with a 6bolt bottom end with 2g head, but it jumped time and i found a rebuilt 1g head for cheap so im just putting that on till i can build the 2g head. my question is the part that the thermostat is conected to doesnt fit the 1g head so i think i need one from a 1g but i dont know what its called so its hard to search for the part. So could some1 tell me the part or what they did to make it work? Ill post a picture of what it is if my explanation doesnt make sense.

I believe that is the thermostat housing.

looks like the thermostat housing that goes up to the top radiator hose.. i think there different on a 1g head

You'll need a 1g thermostat housing, both upper and lower pieces. You'll also need a 1g water pipe as the 2g one will not work.

You're correct a 2g housing won't work on a 1g head. The 1g housing will work on both heads though.

Simply pulling it out of the h2o pump.

If you plan to run coolant to your turbo then it is convenient to get one from a turbo.
