can i temporarily run a nt ecu in my 1g? my ecu died and i have a nt ecu sitting around from my ggsx. i plugged it in and it runs fine and seems to be ok. i'm sure i can't hit high boost with it but will it be ok for just driving home and to work?

anyone know the specific differences between the two?

It's calibrated for NT injectors, 240s, are they? Fuel and timing maps are very different. The car might run on it, but probably not well. My car came with an NT ecu and it ran on it until I upgraded a few things and started flowing so much air that it went past the capabilites of the NT ecu and the engine would completely lose power at times so that I had to pull over and shut off the car. But my car also came with low compression in one cylinder- so I'd limit your drive time on this ecu to the minimum needed to get another good turbo ecu.

that's pretty much what i figured on. tried it to get home from work and the car ran fine. obviously i didn't go over 10 psi or 50% throttle but under those parameters, the car was perfect. another ecu is on the way anyway....

I have ran a 1G turbo car on a N/A ECU. I also used a DSM Pocketlogger to monitor how it functioned.
N/A's run high impedence injectors and no resistor pack. The fuel maps may be off, but it will operate 450's in an original turbo car.
As far as the timing issue, the N/A ECU wasn't designed to read the airflow a turbo unit is. Once you go under boost and overrun what the ECU wants to see for airflow, the timing drops to a solid 5 deg, reguardless of what you set your base timing.

It was in a Laser A/T FWD turbo car for about 3 months running 15psi. I drove the car on a daily basis and averaged 18 MPG. Only modifications to the car were a 7cm 14b, 2G ex manifold, 255 Walboro and 2.5" exhaust DP back.

yeah i'm just keeping hte airflow down. i'm not worried about knock, the car was tuned perfectly before, so it's not going to knock at low loads now.
