i have a 92 talon tsi AUTO. i was wondering if it's possible to get a MT ecu and MT 450cc injectors and swap them in so i can turn up boost on my 13g turbo.

right now i've either got a failing ecu, or bad injectors. so i figure if im going to get a turbo upgrade or turn up boost i might as well go ahead and go the MT fuel system route.

anyone know if this will work. or will i need to do a turbo at the same time?
 
I don't think a manual ECU would work unless your car was a manual. Reason being that the automatic ECU is needed in order to work with the AT's computer. However, its fairly simple and very common to swap in a 14b, manual cams, and manual injectors.

Fuel and Spark based on Airflow and RPM but your close. Yes, you can use the MT ECU once you swap injectors. Otherwise it will run lean since the ECU thinks the injectors are larger than they would be on a AT.

The TCU and ECU don't communicate, they share input from the TPS, IPS, speed sensor, and Tach pulses.

yes injectors are different size with 1g's but are same on 2g's correct? so to use an auto tranny on a manual car would have no problem right? my friend is going to use a auto ecu on a manual car, i dont think there will be any problems, i will still check connectors, the main thing i was woried about would be if each ecu might use different logic in the shifting perameters part, but then again the shift computer behind shifter linkages threw firewall should be the only thing that is used in shifting like stated above, thanks just my 2cents

On a 2G the ECU is the same within a model year MT or AT, CA or FED.

The engines are the same including injectors.

Yep :thumb: I put a head from a manual car and a 14B on my automatic when I had the motor out, Plugged in my MT ECU, and haven't had a problem.
 
when you swapped in the 14b, manual ecu, cams and injectors, did you also do the FPR?

if im thinking right, the auto flows at 43psi, where the manual flows at 37. . . or something around there.

and if i can't get my hands on a 14b right now, could i just do injectors, and ecu? and turn up the boost on my 13g? :talon:
