1g maft on 2g

i have a friend that has a 1g maft set up that has the intake pipe, filter, uicp, tb elbow, gm maf, 1g maft, and turbo xs bov. i think th intake pipe and filter will fit just be a lil shorter than stock. the ucip looks to not work but i can sell and get the right one. but i was wondering if the 1g maft will work on the 2g and how. if anyone knows lmk, jeremy

That wouldn't be a good install. However you can install it, but it would include hard wiring it in. You would be sacrificing performance. The 2g mas is also a lot more reliable than the 1g, It's less restrictive.

Sell it and get the right one. It would be a downgrade and a huge pita to try and use it.

As long as the MAFT is version 2.xx, the only difference between the 1g and 2g maft is the actual plug on the translator. To get it to work on your 2g car you would need to swap to a 1g mass air meter plug. I'm not a huge fan of hacking up my wiring harness but if it's cheap enough, it's easy enough to make it work.

Exactly. It's the same box. All the changes are made in the base tuning between the 1g and the 2g platforms. Guys there's a difference between the maft and the maf.

smart man i was like are they thinking maf instead of maft??? i would do it its a better tuning upgrade. only problem is the plugs are different. but jst hard wire it. no biggie

So does anybody know how to or has a diagram on how to rewire a 1G translator in to a 2G. I've seen this diagram long time ago and now it's impossible to find. I have a 1G Maf (version 2.xx) translator and I would love to hard wire it in to a 2G harness. Please help. Thank you.
