I think he's talking about the translator itself (I hope)

The only difference between the translator for a 1G and the 2G is the wire connector used to connect the translator to the car's wiring harness. It's just a matter of some hardwiring the two and make sure you leave enough of the 2G plug just in case you want to reinstall the 2G MAS.
