my friend found a silver 1G Laser. He thought it was a Talon but when i seen it i told him it was a Laser. He asked if it was for sale, and the guy said $400 or $500. its auto and just a 1.8L base Laser with the 4G37. my friend has been wanting a cheap DSM ever since he seen and drove mine. now of course hes gunna get smoked by ALOT of other cars only having an estimated 92bhp with the 4G37. my question is, could he do a 4G37 to 4G63 swap if he wanted to later on? or at least could he get some more HP? i told him its a waste of money if your looking for a fast DSM. but it will give him some time to get familiar with DSM's. btw the car does run.

It should be possible, I mean, anything's possible... I would tell him to keep looking around, the swap would be a hassle as he would also need alot of other parts (ECU, harness, exhaust, etc...). I picked up my GS-T for $900, just had to look a little harder.

That would just be a good car to get from point A to point B and make great gas mileage at that.

wow $900?? ive been looking for a 1G Turbo, id like AWD, DSM for cheap. how did you find urs? but anyway, i was thinking for $400, he could fix it up and sell it. then more money for another. but im curious as how you found your GS-T for $900!!

I found mine on craiglist, it was on there for about a month until I seen it and called the guy, he was asking $1100 but it needed some work (new paint, smoked a little) so we talking him down to $900. Even though it smoked the motor ran very strong still 165 psi all across 4 cylinders. But it was just the valve seals I believe, I've got the motor rebuilt now and is almost ready to put back in... Just check ebay, craigslist, and if you have a trader magazine/newspaper for your area.
