Has anyone out there ever tried a spacer 1 inch to 2 inches thick between the stock 1g manifold and head to see if it would add torque? I wanna no what you all think? Please let me know? I see intakes like the frh/fhr racing intake using them and other smim but what happens when you use that spacer for a 1g? I'm looking to add a few extra foot pounds of torque.

If a short runner SMIM is good for top end then adding 1-2 inches to an already long runner IM will kill your top end.

I had a 1.25" thick phenolic spacer, but pulled it off cause the car was falling on its face after 6500 rpms. It probably added some low end torque, but the stock IM is good for that. I don't have any before/after numbers to prove it b/c I changed too much at once, but my reasoning seems logical enough.
