Sup guys,
So, I have some lifters that I want to let go. I was getting no compression and turns out that most of the lifters went bad because only a handful would compress when I bled them. I have them here pictured and they're 1g lifters (non revised) versions. I didn't want to get rid of the ones that are still good. Hit me up if you can use them. I have a new set on the way, so I'm not keeping these.

Are you SURE you got the plunger depressed when trying to bleed? It takes a needle almost to get down to it on a 1g non-revised lifter as the hole is so small.

VERY sure. I used a straightened paper clip to bleed them all. Pressed down and the the amount of the clip I used to successfully bleed these is the exact same amount I used for the others. These pictured are the ones that came out with good compression after being bled. The others were like trying to used a paper clip on a brick wall. After soaking them a few days and trying to bleed 2-3 more times with no success, I figured it was just best to buy a new set. I can't be mad.....These are all the original from when I bought the car in the 90's so I've gotten excellent use out of them.

Oh for sure. Replace and have peace of mind! Just checking. Some of my early 1g lifters were very tiny which is why I had to use a needle, the thinnest paperclip wouldn't fit through the top.

Yeah, it was crazy. They were so stiff, the paper clip actually a couple of times on the ones that wouldn't compress. The new ones came in today and each one was great. One gave me a "little" trouble but it finally compressed, thank God!

Great !!!!
Peace of mind. Clean, bleed, lube and rebleed for that extra assurance.
Soak those old ones in diesel fuel for an extended period. Just to see if they break free. :)
