1G HKS Catback exhausts

I saw that thread on all of the exhausts to choose from, and they all seemed loud. I've heard that the HKS HI-Power catback is quiet, and still nets 10 wheel horsepower. If anyone has a HKS Hi-Power of Turbo catback exhaust on their car I'd like to hear it. Also if anyone knows of any quiet exhausts for a 1G that would be nice.

the hks hi power is pretty much the same as the apexi n1 and they are both quiet at idle but under boost they both roar.

I have a catback HKS Hi-Power, and what GSXRacer said is right. Under idle, you can barely hear it in the next car over. But, once I mash the throttle, you KNOW it because of the sound it makes. When I get my car back, I'll video tape me driving it a lil. But, I only have 2.5" piping (came like that from previous owner) so it doesnt sound the best. I'm going to upgrade to 3" piping soon, and get a high-flow cat + 3" downpipe. Then, it'll have a very nice growl.

HKS turbo is quiet, but it's been discontinued. It's not a 3" but something like 2 3/8". You can still find some out there (MachV has it listed on their site)

i have a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd. it has a hks catback system on it. the pipe after the cat and before the muffler is pinched. does anyone know if i can order that pipe from the company, or if i can just go to the muffler shop and get a 2.5 inch pipe that will fit it. please let me know. thanks alot.

just go ahead and get the 3". you kick youself in the nuts later if you get a 2.5" and want to upgrade

i should up grade to 3" , but im low on cash, im looking for the quick fix for now. i guess im just seeing if anyone would happen to have the piping i need, or know where i can get it for cheap.

try to find a muffler shop near you. They'll usually do it for cheaper than online.

i had a full turboback hks 3" with the hks hipower muffler(no cat) on my 2g awd and that thing was flippin loud, people could hear my car from 3 blocks down if i was just driving granny style.

if you want a quiet nice sounding exhaust.... get a thermal 3" and get a resonator or 2 put on as big as you can fit 1 works good 2 works really good
i know people that use 2 resonators and no mufflers and drive it on the street... i just have a straight 3" w/ thermal exhaust and open tial 44 WG.
