1g head swap... How much power will I gain

Not to hijack your thread, but...

FIPK, Greddy Type S BOV, Boost & A/F gauge, 1G Head and Intake, ARP Head Studs, 2.5'' Downpipe, Test Pipe

I was wondering what gain I would get also.

K&N filtercharger
3 inch full exhaust w/HKS Hyper
TD06-25G turbo (huge!)
FMIC and custom pipes
MAFT
460cc rx-7 INJECTORS (550cc are coming)
AEM cam pulleys
Unortodox crank pulley
Accel wires w/iridium power spark plugs (equivalent bpr7es)
BLITZ DSBC i-D
External wastegate
EXEDY CERAMETALIC CLUTCH AND EXEDY FLYWHEEL
B&M tranny insert
255 lph walbro (rewired)
Im working my setup @t 14 psi on 97 octane pump gas
i just got this head from a 90 laser (4g63T) and i want to know is this swap worth it.

These questions are almost impossible to answer. Nobody can really tell you exactly how much HP you are going to gain beacuse every car is different. But what I can tell you is that you WILL feel a noticeable difference. That alone should make it worth the swap.

I would still get 660cc injectors. You might push the limits of the 550cc injectors duty cycle. Also when you are thinking of running higher boost levels than the 16 psi max you stated, you really will need the 660cc's. I have a super 20G with PTE 680cc injectors and 255 lph fuel pump.

That turbo is unbelievably huge..so much bigger then a 20g i think its rated at 650 horse power...there also very expensive brand new..due to u needing a diff 02 etc etc.. but i would go a lil bigger then 660ccs because it might be running at a higher duty cycle....go to 760s or something... then get it tuned and it will run great at a lower duty cycle and ull always have room for upgrading to a bigger turbo. :dsm:

What will i need to complete the supporting mods to that huge turbo?
Im thinkin about to buy a safcII... is it useful? or Maft is enough?
Can Maft and SafcII work together?
In that case, a SafcIi will give me more power?
Another question... whats the best datalogger for 2gs?
 
There are alot of people out there that will argue that the 2g head is actually a very good design. I believe they still use the same port design in the EVO 8 head and we've made incredible power with a very mildly ported EVO head on our shop car. Ive seen many cars make 400+ hp on a totally unopened 2g motor, including stock cams, head, and intake manifold.

..On a totally unrelated note, I would ditch those NGK Iridium plugs if I were you... My 16G powered 1G was only getting the EGTs up to the 950-1050*F range and at that temp, I was finding that the plug gap would widen by itself over time, until I was actually blowing the spark out with only 15lbs of boost on 91 pump, 510cc injectors @ 70% duty cycle. Do your self a favor, check your gaps often until you can get another plug! (I ended up going with the Nology Silverstone plugs for the heat dissapating properties of the silver electrode).
