1g head on my 2g?

Well I just bought a 1995 Talon TSI AWD and it is blowing a little bit of blue smoke and the lifters are ticking like no other

Because the lifters are annoying the hell out of me I want to either replace or rebuild my head. Would a 1g head fit on my 2g? And is there any benifit to running a 1g head on my 2g?

stock to stock a 1g head flows more air.
