It was working fine just to say, but now when I try to link up to the car it says ECU comm error or something of that sort - using MMCd, either way I tried to go to their webpage to figure out what the problem is but I can't. I get no reading from the car datalogger wise at all.

I double checked to ensure that all connections are on correctly, and that the ECU doesn't have any compacitor leaks, and so forth - everything is pretty much as is and maybe its something simple that I over looked - maybe its the problem in my datalogger... program in it or something?

I tried to reset it with the simple hold in the back of the datalogger - no luck. Anyway I can entirely reboot it? I bought it off E-bay so I don't have a book for it...

Anyone else have this problem that would like to help me out?

Thanks!

So this just happend out of the blue? Does your PDA still sync to the computer fine? If so we know the PDA is able to read and write data just fine. I don't know much to trouble shoot these loggers. What I would do is see if any of your buddies has a data logger w/ cable and hook that up. That way to see if it's the datalogger/cable fault, or the diagnostic port/ecu fault.

How does your cable hook up to the diagnostic port. I have three wires, one red, and two black. This is how it looks in the diagnostic port:

| <red wire there

| < one black wire there
| < left untouched
| < another black wire here

That diagram didnt come out right :notgood: Anyways the top left corner, that prong is for the red wire.

I'd take an LED or an analog voltmeter and put it on pins 1 & 12 of the diagnostic port. Turn the key on and see if the LED flashes/needle moves. If it does, then the problem is either in your cable or your Palm.
You can do a hard reset of the Palm device, however you'll have to reload your datalogging software via the computer.

Yeah I guess I'll try the LED idea. I know its hooked up correctly, and I am not sure if it connects to the computer still (I am at a different house, no software, and they have a dialup connection... so it pisses me off.)

Either way the datalogger seems to be working 'Ok' sometimes the software seems to not display correctly ( when I click over to the second, third, and forth colums under the logging monitor / review screen sometimes the cateagorys to view do not show up (such as BARO, MASF - so forth doesn't load any of them until I try afew times...)

Just got home and hooked it up to my computer - runs like it should and all. So its most likley something out in the car. Maybe the cable (I'll be checking that shortly - need to change oil / afew belts so I am letting the car cool.)

Either way - anymore input guys? :thumb:

Is there anyway I can uninstall / reinstall MMCd on my palm? can't find the book for it and I was wondering if there is a entire way to reset it - maybe thats the problem.

Sure, you can use Palm Desktop to uninstall/reinstall MMCd. Did you check the diagnostics port for proper operation as I suggested earlier?
