1g computer reset

I thought I read something that a 1g has memory to keep its settings? At what point on a 1g does it lose its fuel trims etc?

If you're talking about DSMLink, then yes, it does have a battery board on the 1G (not on the 2G yet) to remember settings after the power has been dis-connected. The OEM ECU does not.

Generally immediately, but definitely in about 5-10 minutes.

I think hes talking about fuel trims of the ecu, not dsmlink. The ecu will reset its fuel trims if you disconnect the battery for 10 seconds.

That's right. What you are doing here is waiting for the ECU capacitors to drain. You can make this happen a little faster by touching the positive and negative wires together after disconnecting the battery.
