I've searched the forums but I haven't found any clear info about how to log using a pc instead of a PDA. So what program should I use and how can I make a cable? I'm planning on spending as little as possible. Thanks

I really couldn't tell ya, but couldnt you use the wire for the pda and hook it into the laptop and just install the program for the pda onto the laptop?

Read the rules boy. Please learn how to use capitalization and punctuation. OP, the TMO logging software still works well. You can also run a Palm emulator on a PC. There are plenty of 1g ALDL/serial cable schematics on this forum if you use the search function. Many people construct one of those and purchase a Keyspan adapter for USB capabilities.

Download TMO Logger and buy a cable on ebay. If you get a cable that's made for a pda, you'll just need a null modem cable to make it work with a laptop. You'll also need a USB to serial adapter unless you're using an older laptop that actually has a serial port.
