I am researching this for a friends car that is intermittently bogging down.
The car is a 1991 Eagle Talon, 5spd, turbo, FWD
- The problem comes and goes while idling, accelerating, and/or holding a steady speed.
- The problem is not seen until after coming up to temp
- When the bogging comes in to play, the tachometer drops its reading by 1/2 ie. even tho the engine must still be turning 2k rpm the gauge will drop and show 1k revs. Once the bogging goes away the revs read back to 2k.
- When the bogging starts while holding speed, the boost gauge indicates that boost is being built
Has anyone experienced this problem before, what do I need to look for to fix it?
Any and all help is appreciated, and please keeps comments, questions, and suggestions coming, I would like to get this car running right this weekend.
Thanks;
Kyle
