Do 1g's come stock with a BOV. I've done some hunting around by engine bay and couldn't find anything.

Thanks guys. I feel like a tard face. Next question. Do I need to go aftermarket then or will the stock one do?

It depends. What boost will you be running? What are your goals?

Should be fine for that. the 1G BOV is an upgrade for the 2G guys so you should be fine.

If your worried about holding boost there is a couple things you could do

Dodge Garage Mod

Crush BOV:

Most people who plan on running high boost without spending a bunch of a BOV will take one from a 1g and stick it in a vice and crush it, so the spring has more tension on it, therefore allowing it to hold back greater boost pressures. You need to hook a vaccuum gauge up to it when you are crushing ot to make sure you get it set to whatever pressure you run, if you over-crush it, there is no going back and if its too bad, it will not open when it needs to.

Note: Those are for holding higher boost then stock

I've got a td05 that it belive is a 16g. I'm gonna check that this week end. I have the stock boost gauge hooked up right now and it shows I'm at about 13psi but I think thats a little low.

It comes stock with a BPV as it recirculates the air back into the intake. You should be fine with the stock unit if you don't care about getting the pshhhhh sound.

Well all 1g's come whit a tdo5h so you probally have a 14b if it's stock the number on the turbo should be 49178-01030

Automatic 1g's come with a TD04 13g, as well as 390cc injectors. But yes, if it's a TD05H and the car hasn't been otherwise modified, it's 99% likely it's a 14b. If it happens to be a 16g that someone threw on as a replacement, congrats.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and inform ya'll next monday after i pull the intake off tommorow. If it dosen't rain of course... BTW thanks for all the helpful tips.

While the intake's off, you might as well check for shaft play by trying to wiggle the compressor wheel up and down, side to side, and in and out. Any in and out play is bad. Any noticeable side-side play is kinda bad.

I didn't get the chance to check the turbo or anything this weekend because it rained but, I was wondering if any of you guys know what turbo comes on the 1991 cyclone gt's. (galant vr-4). I have a the motor out of one of those in my car and I imagine its all stock so that should give me some idea. Btw the engine code is the same 4g63t but I can't find wether its a 16g or a 14b.

If you got a jdm cyclone engine in your car, there’s a bigger possibility that you got a 16g turbo.
Get an aftermarket boost gauge for sure. And a mbc should be closer to the top of your wish list too. You don’t need to modify/replace your bov until you start turning up the boost anyways.

I have boost gauge in the a pillar on my car but I haven't hooked it up yet. I just found out the other day how to hook it up and I need to figure out what size t i need to get for the hose. I also plan to get a electronic boost controller and a greddy full auto tubro timer. I'm just waiting a couple of pay checks before I go ahead with it.
