Hey all,

I got myself a 1g bov and asked the shop to install it while they hookup the new turbo, but they're telling me they can't get the bov to fit. What could be the problem?
Is there some modification that needs to be done first? Isn't it a direct swap out or....?

Click on "BOV-Misc-Tools" and scroll down to item "BOV-F". You should see two little adapters. The one on the right is the 1g adapter to fit a 2g car. This pic:

However, while you're there, you might as well look at dejon's intercooler pipe options. You could get a new upper intercooler pipe section already flanged for a 1g BOV that will replace the kinked 1" section of UIP that your car currently has for about $100. Add the second section of UIP for another $85 and you have yourself one shiny new upper intercooler pipe. :)

The piping is completely different between a 1g and a 2g. The 2g has a plastic intercooler pipe from the SMIC to the rubber elbow coupler and throttle body elbow. The plastic is extremely crimped where the stock airbox fits (it gets crimped to about an 1"x1.5" or so square, then rounds out again under the fusebox). Upgrading this pipe to a metal pipe like dejon's, Dave Brode's, RRE's, etc. all increase flow and most of them let you to pick which BOV flange you want on the pipe.

You could try to adapt that pipe to fit between the SMIC and TB elbow, but in the end, it would be much better to just upgrade to a new pipe with flange. At the least, you could just get the adapter ($10-15) and reuse your stock UICP and call it a day. Either one will get rid of the stock 2g BOV and that's an upgrade in and of itself.

Let us know what you decide to do. :)

I decided to go with the DEJON-S BOV and adapter rather than the 1g...I guess I'll have to sell that one on ebay. D'oh....
