My car is now cranking but not turning over. It sounds really close to, but not quite.

I have a 1g head in my 2g and I realized that I have a 1g temp sensor in my thermo housing. Is is completely necessary to have a 2g temp sensor in there?

I would try it unhooked, but car should start either way.
I have never had a car not start from a bad temp sensor.

Only thing I can think happening is its like 10 degrees out and car thinks its like 100 or something, so its not putting in enough fuel for start up.

I would unplug it. See what happens, maybe also try spraying some start fluid in the intake to rule out fuel....... and check spark etc.

I know a bad temp sensor makes it incredibly hard to start your car. It needs to know the temp so it can match up how much fuel to enrich by on start-up. I would use the temp sensor that matches your computer.
