I have been reading the posts on how to remove the 2g a/c system and it looks quite similar to the system in my 92 awd talon. My question is, am I going to have to cap off anything that leads to the heater core or any other random lines that go through the firewall? Also, I have my transmission out right now being rebuilt by TRE, so can I just pull the compressor out the bottom? I have alot of space withe the halfshaft and downpipe out of the way.

On another note, has anyone ever used the Buscher Racing alternator relocation kit that puts the alternator where the a/c compressor was? Its subpossed to be used to make more room for your turbo setup.

Any help would be appreciated. :talon:

When i removed mine it was fairly straight forward, and yes when the ## cv joint and downpipe out it makes big dif for droppin the compressor. For where the ac line runs into your heating unit, i just cut a small aluminum piece to seal everything up...

this is how i did it.

i took off all of the lines for the ac system, which is easy to do. then i took the condenser out(the ac radiator basically) by taking the radiator brackets off and slowly slipping it out from the top, its kinda hard because there is hardly any room, as is the case with most of the ac system removal. then when it came time for the compressor to be removed, i unplugged it first, then i took off the 4 bolts that held it in place. once you do this, you can pull the compressor out from the top, i did get a few scratches in the engine bay, but who cares. from what i remember, you want to pull it out with the pulley on the compressor facing up, once that clears, the rest will easily follow. after this is done, DO NOT remove the bracket that once situated the compressor, i remember reading that it was a spacer for something important, so i left it in there. better safe then sorry. hope this helps.

The spacer is needed to properly attach the half shaft axle on the drivers side.

i posted another thread about this subject and just found this old thread that applies. i was wondering which bolt i should put the spacer under. any help would be greatly appreciated.
btw, the part number is as follows and the description on the bag that the spacer came in:
part #: MB297732
description: spacer, FR axle
