1g & 2G smic are the inlets and outlets diff?

Okay, i know the 2G smic has a larger surface area than the 1G smic, but the 1G smic has a thicker core. What i want to know is if the inlet and outlets of these intercoolers different? I'm restoring my 2g back to stock and i can get a 1g smic to stick in its place. Will this fit/work? with the inlet and outlet on the intercooler match?

I beleive the inlets and outlets are smaller on the 1g

The outlet may be close but the inlet is at an angle on a 1G pointing upwards.
