1g,2g etc froma newbie

hi guys,cracking place on here.i know this may sound a bit daft,but coming from the uk we don't have any of these models to play with.all i want to know is what is the 1G and 2G terms mean?sorry if this sounds like a daft question.

1G = 1st Generation. A DSM from model years 1990 - 1994.

1990-1991 have pop up headlights.
1992-1994 do not.


2G = 2nd Generation. A DSM from model years 1995-1999.

1995-1996 have the smiley face front bumper and different rear bumper.
1997-1999 are the very sexy looking ones. Turbocharged models come with a high rise spoiler.

These terms simlpy designate the different models. 1G=First generation, 2G=Second Generation. Enjoy the site

1G = model year 1989-1994
2G = model year 1995-1999
3G = 2000+ (not really a DSM)
