Im just finishing a 6bolt transplant into my 97 and im just curious if anyone knows whether the 1g coolant temp sensor (2prong t shape) will work on a 2g. I know that the connectors don't match up but if i soldered the wires would it work or not?

believe me if it was that easy i would. However, i got the car w/o an engine and therefore w/o the sensor. soooo, im curious if i can use the 1g sensor that came w/the 6bolt i got.

Just wondering if anyone has an answer to this. I have a 6bolt swapped 2g and both the gauge and the ecu sensors are unplugged. My car is really hard to start and I'm assuming this is most likely the problem.

Thanks

not to bring this back from the dead but no one has a forshure answer to this question anywhere on this site. but I would just like to say I have a 95 tsi awd 6 bolt swapped and I use the 1g cts in my car with no issues at all.
