I’m considering selling my 1998 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. I’ve enjoyed working on the car and restoring it over the last year. I really enjoy getting to drive it when I have the chance to, I have only put a couple thousand miles on in the last year. I’m thinking of upgrading to an Evo. I’ll be able to use it more because I can more easily fit my wife and two pre-teens in an Evo instead of the Talon.

I have all service records and receipts for parts purchased and installed since I bought it last June. I also have close to 10 years of various service records from the prior owner.

Going over the car grade wise:

Exhaust A,

All new from the turbo to the muffler. All 3” piping and CAT, SRS Cat-back. Tubular o2 housing attached to the turbo in place of oem. Innovate LC2 wideband sensor is installed in front o2 bunge.

Fuel and ignition A

Walboro 190lph pump rewired for 14v, 750cc FIC injectors, new oem fuel filter, brand new ngk ignition coils, Taylor thundervolt plug wires, Bpr7es ngk plugs all installed after January 2019.

Charge and battery system A

Brand new Bosch starter installed July 2018, reman ac Delco alternator installed in March, odyssey deep state battery installed July 2018

Engine B+

Stock engine, new timing belt/water pump/balancer/tensioner installed Sept 2018, valve cover gasket replaced April 2019, head rebuilt about 13k miles ago during prior ownership, compression is good and steady across all cylinders. No fluid leaks. Two manifold studs are broke in the head and will need to be drilled/tapped. Easy fix, haven’t done it yet because there is no exhaust leaking. I did a brief cleaning of the engine bay, it’s pretty average and could use a better detailing. The engine runs strong though and that’s more important to me.

Turbo A

Brand new OEM MHI EVO III 16G purchased from extreme PSI and installed in October. Grimmspeed Manual Boost controller set to 20PSI, hits 20 PSI by 3700 RPM. Pulls strong all the way to 7000 RPM. Currently has an EVO X BOV installed but I have a Tial QR to go with a new FMIC from VRSF. They just need to be installed.

ECU A

Oem blackbox ecu tuned by Racetek NH using Ceddymods and Tactrix cable. Dynoed at over 230HP at wheels and over 250 ft-lbs torque. If you account for the loss in drive train to the wheels to get back to crank numbers it’s about 305HP and 320 ft-lbs torque at the crank.

Drive Train A

New south bend clutch and act street lite flywheel installed Jan 2019. Clutch is rated for 325 ft-lbs. shifter cable bushings were all replaced as well as the shift assembly with metal bushings. There is an original B&M short shifter installed. A Miata mx5 5 speed shift tops it off.

Tires A

A set of continental contact DWS were installed in July. Basically new tread life at this point

Wheels B

Wheels are a set of Y spoke MSRs. There are some Knicks but no curb rash around the rim. These would clean up really easily at a wheel shop and look nice on the car. Light compared to stock at 22lbs per wheel. They were on the car when I bought it.

Paint B-

Paint has no major defects, large scratches, pealing, etc. it’s pretty solid but it could definitely use a refresh. There are a couple of dings, 1 near the sun roof and another in the drivers door that are noticeable if you know to look for them. It’s not show room finish but it’s very good for being 21 years old. I am planning to get it repainted when I install the side skirts I bought for it.

Audio A

I redid the entire audio system as the old infinity set was in bad shape. New infinity speakers all around the car with a 1000W infinity amp and a separate powered infinity subwoofer. The head unit is a pioneer double din that has all the new stuff including apple car play and the android equivalent. Bluetooth hands free, can use google maps for GPS, plays DVDs etc. I also installed a license plate backup cam.

Suspension B

There are a set of KYB AGX adjustable shocks on the front. All suspension components are OEM, no repairs needed but if your plans are to track the car I would consider spending some time on the suspension. At least refresh the bushings.

Strut Towers B

Strut towers were repaired during prior ownership. They repair feels solid however there are some hairline cracks around the weld lines that should be watched. Keep the car away from snow and this should never become an issue.

Other notable repairs:

Steering Rack

Replaced steering rack last week. I had noticed a slow power steering leak and my local Mitsubishi found a leak at the rack. Car tracks fine with new alignment and steering feels like new.

Front passenger Axel

Replaced last July, tires and the axel were the only things I needed to replace to pass inspection. Should have no issue passing state inspections.

All fluids have been changed when I bought the car and some changes again as parts have been replaced.

If you have any questions or would like more info/pictures send me a message.

I’m in no hurry to sell. I’m firm with my price. If you like the car and the price works for you I’m happy to get this done soon so you can start enjoying the car. Car runs and drives well, does not need anything at this point.

$7000 if paying via PayPal, $6,500 if paying cash/cashiers bank check (no personal check or money orders).

Note this is a Canadian build car so the odometer is in kilometers. Converted to miles it has roughly 130000 miles. The odometer is accurate but to get miles you take the KM reading and multiple by .62 to get the reading in Miles.

Check out my vehicle profile for picks, mod info, and dyno chart. More pictures can be taken just let me know what you want to see.
