1992 Plymouth laser

Hi I'm looking at buying a 1992 plymouth laser and the guy says it's awd turbo but it doesn't have the pop up lights. I thought all awd turbo eclipse/talon/lasers have the pop up lights. Can this be possible that it is awd turbo?

only 90 91 eclipse talons and lasers had pop up lights after that they had soild headlights

How do I know the BOV has been recirculated right?

Don't just throw parts at the car. Maintain it such as replace the timing belt, plugs, wires, boost leak test etc... Then move on to modding it proper. How do you except to tune it for 20psi of boost?

it would depend on the condition of the engine its hard to say every car reacts different to mods my friend and i did the same mods and i ran 404hp and he only ran 372hp just read thru the vfaq section there is a guide to mods to get to different hp ranges just a word of warning the more hp u run the more stuff u break. gets to be expensive after awhile. to tune u will need and safc or emclink and a wb is a good investment. and as stated above maitance is the key.

Well the engine was just replaced with the a diffrent 6 bolt and has around 60k on the motor. I think I'm going to lower it down to a lower psi. What psi should I set it at? Also the timing belt was replaced I'll replace the wires and such if I do buy. He's selling it around 4k is it a fair price?

what all does he have done to it $4000 seems alittle steep if it is stock or close to it i paid $1000 for a stock 92 and $1500 for a close to stock 91.

He did the $1400 of mods and new speakers, deck and ugly as black aftermarket rims. so I was thinking around $3500 or lower would be better price

If you plan to run 20psi on stock injectors then you'll need a new engine soon. Read through the "TECH" section in the upper left hand corner of the webpage. It has an upgrade path listed.

But 4K for a near stock laser with rims is too much. 1400 in mods doesn't tell us much. What did he spend the 1400 on? Some people get a wing off of a 747 mounted on their trunk, ugly rims, and lambo door hinges and think that was a well spent 1400 in mods.

Walk away from that 1992, $4k vehicle ... WAY TOO MUCH! .. for he wants to get his money back of the mods that he's done to it .. For, if you then try to sell it later, you definitely aint gonna get any of that $4k back that you blew on this vehicle.

Even with all the mods, it's only worth less than $2k by a long shot simply due to it's age being almost 20 yrs old.

I agree. I spent 2000 on my 93 and it was mint condition. I also payed 400 for a 90 that only needs a fuel pump. Getting a 91 this week for 600 just needs a headgasket other than that mint condition, comes with a complete new head and less than 97000 miles on it.
So I would say you can find a bit better deal than that. Take a little more time and shop around on craigslist.

Even with the AWD, $2,000-2,500 tops. You don't get what you paid for in mods when you sell, thats just a fact of life. Often times it even lowers the resell value.
