Hello, I recently found a source for almost an entire AC System for my 1990 Eclipse. I can get almost everything I can think I will need to reintroduce AC into my car.

I found a new compressor with clutch
a new condenser
a new discharge line
a new filter/dryer
a new expansion valve
a new belt

I cannot seem to locate a new evaporator core but I don't know that will be essential to replace as mine should still be good in the car.
However, more importantly I also cannot seem to locate a new AC Pressure Line and I came here to ask for advice on replacing the AC Pressure line and also if maybe I am forgetting anything.

Is the AC Pressure line for a 1990 any different than a 91, or 92-94?

I didn't want to make a classified ISO ad until I knew whether the pressure lines were the same or not.

Thanks in advance

Can't help you on sourcing the AC line, unfortunately. For what it's worth, here's our recent experience.

Be sure to leave the component shipping plugs in place on the individual components until you are ready to install them. Most AC components are shipped under vacuum so that you can verify it is sealed by the hiss when you pull the caps out.

We just replaced the AC system on our 2G with parts ordered from Rock Auto. The expansion was the wrong model so we had to skip that piece, but it all worked when done.

We used compressed air to blow the old compressor oil out the evaporator core. All the other parts were new. Use a small amount of lube on the O-rings as you attach the components so the seals don't get torn and leak.

Be prepared to rent/buy a vacuum pump to pull the moist air out of the system and check to make sure it holds a vacuum before wasting freon. It looks more complicated than it is. Some advice says wait 45 minutes and check the vacuum, but we leave it 24 hours to account for small leaks.

Only add the compressor oil once. After you've done this project once it will all make sense.

Thanks for the info and tips!

I should be able to source it without too much problem, you might say I am "connected" LOL.

I don't know if there is a difference between the ones for a 90 vs 91 vs 92-94, I would imagine there would be as the 90 has so many other nuiance differences.
