Trust me, I know there are probably more threads on this topic than there are books in the Library of Congress. But I've looked and looked for weeks and still can't get a solid answer.

I'm looking at XXR's. This is purely a DD, so I'd rather not put nicer rims on it.

But I'm not here to ask which rims I should go with, I'm here to ask about fitment.

I'm looking at the 18x8.75 with +35 offset. Tires will probably be 235/40 or 235/45.

I don't mind rolling the fenders, because my car will be sitting on Koni Yellows with the Ground Control kit.

That being said, my questions are:

1. Will I have knuckle clearance issues?

2. Will the wheel/tire poke out any? I like a little poke, but it's not big deal if they don't.

Keep in mind, I'm pretty set on the XXR's (but will listen to suggestions on other rims), but definitely not set on tire size. So suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I'm looking at the same XXR setup as well and after doing some research the wheels should have plenty of clearance on the 96-99 models. In fact you could run a 245 size tire or 10.1 width overall and clear depending on tire brand. The only thing that may have to be done is to roll your fender to prevent rubbing.

This is the best I have at the moment (please note I still need an alignment).

A 235/45/18 is huge for a 2G. Even 235/40/18 is a bit tall. Normally one would put 245/35/18s on a 2G that has been afflicted by 18" wheels, assuming that they are wide enough, which these wheels would be. With a +35 offset, the rear fender lip would have to be rolled.

I just looked again and saw they have +33 offset. I like a little poke, so I might go with those. Does that change anything (besides the obvious offset)?

no i would have to take one but i also have fender flares which makes the fender closer to the wheel and no scrubbing what so ever i have just a little poke and i mean little like an 8th to a quarter inch and no more than 6mm so ill think you will be ok unless your car is super low

Now I'm kind of concerned that the chromium black is too gray looking.

Ya I like both, I just wish they had them in normal gloss black instead of the chromium black.

I might. But that just adds to the cost and creates a little bit of a hassle.

I'm going for the flat black XXR 527's for my 98 GST ignore my avatar that's my old car. Currently my GST is silver, but I'm thinking near future going Blue.

I have just ordered XXR 530 18x8.75, +33, with 255/35/18 Sumitomo HTR Z III.
I expect no issues as it has already been done by several members in here.

I have looked at several pics on how the tire/rims look and for me the 255/35/18 gives the best look of a tire to rim ratio. The 245/40/18 makes the tire look thick with respect to the rim size. But with the 255/35/18 the 18" rim appears to be BIG, visually.

Also, I don't want to stretch the tire due to possible potholes encounters, so the 18x8.75 should give me some decent side-wall cushioning.

Mine will be flat black.

Do you have any links that show the others who have done it?

Make sure to post pictures when you get the wheels on your car!

Im looking at the xxr 530 in 18x8.75 in flat black but apparently they dont have them in +35 anymore. Only offset available is +33 and im curious how much more it would stick out from +35.

2mm, 0.0787402 of an inch, less than 3/32 almost nothing, look at a ruler 2 mm its nothing...

18x8.75 +33 with 245/35r18 will fit easy.
