Will a 18x8.5 with 38 offset fit with a 235/40r18?

Yea it should fit. Im running 18x8.5 on 215/35/18.

I have 2 sets of 235/40 ready to go on my car. I have 18x8.5 +40. The +38 will stick out a bit more, but will fit.

You will for sure be looking to roll the rear fenders. I'm running 18x8.5 +44 wrapped in a 234/40 and have rubbing issues in the rear (unrolled fenders) on big dips. Pics in my gallery.

If you give me your current wheel/tire specs I can tell you how much more or less clearance you'll have with the new set-up.

I'm currently on the stock swirelies at stock height. I am worried about the tire hitting any suspension components, I'l roll my fender if i have to(if/when i get around to lowering my car)

The tire won't hit suspension components. This has been proven already. Rubbing on the rear fender will be an issue.
