Right now I'm in the process of rebuilding my 6-bolt. Just going to be a stock build wh ARP hardware and .020" pistons. I want to keep it cheap.

Now I'm just debating which turbo to run. I'm kind of the guy that wants to be different :p, so I'd rather not use an EVOIII. I've been researching an 18g for some time now. I've seen that the 68HTA is alright, and the SL2 isn't made anymore.

I noticed Blouch turbos makes an 18g with a TDO5H turbine, and are fairly cheap and offer slightly more flow than the EVOIII 16g.

My power goals are anywhere from 300-350hp, nothing crazy or picky, just something fun. If I could click off a 12.5 or trap faster than a 110, I'd be happy as well.

Anyone who has experience running a Blouch 18g, or any 18g for that matter, your input is welcome.

I've had the Blouch 18g, slow(er) spool then the small 16g. Not that great of top end either. In my opinion, the 18g was something Mitsu should have never bothered to produce. I'm right down the street from Blouch Turbo.

BTW, all supporting mods will be done to ensure I can maximize the power output for the turbo I choose.

e85_4g63, what mods did you have with the blouch turbo?

I'm not sure what the difference is between a Blouch 18G and my plain old ported MHI 18G, but I LOVE my turbocharger. Before I rebuilt the top end it had a choppy tune and was still a blast to drive, and had plenty of top end. It spools quick enough that in 5th gear @ 55mph, which is what I do on the freeway, it takes but a second to spool up enough to easily overtake another vehicle.

Although my car has recently started to smoke and I suspect it might be the turbocharger, in which case I'm considering swapping over to a HX35...

Not a bad choice for a turbo. If you are doing that you might try going with a bastard 20g. I have the parts to make you a new one cheap. Let me know of you are interested.

Red Alert, where did you get your MHI 18g from? I'm interested in the specs on it, pricing, etc.

As for the 20g, it's a bit overkill for me. Otherwise thanks for the responses guys.

It was on the car when I got it last year. Jusmx141 is the guy who originally bought it, rebuilt it, and sold it to one of the previous owners of my car.
