hey guys,

just want to let everyone know how my 1st mod went. after buying the car off of ebay last year. i get off the plane to descover 3 of the 4 stock rims have multiple large dents. needless to say after the 800+ mile road trip back to the house my mind was made up. priority 1 new rims and tires. after much reading here at DSMtuners and other resources such as the fitment calc at wheelsmasters.com i decided i wanted to go big. i set my sights on a set of ROTA P45-R 18 X 9.5 +30 offset (skyline replicas) i wrapped them in 245/40R18 Kumo Ecsta ASX 245/40R18. it took me 13 months but i finally have them on and i've been running over 3 weeks (daily driver) with zero defects as in no rub. the +30 offset gives stock clearance on the suspension and sticks out about 1 inch on the fender side (my fenders are not rolled). there is minimal difference in overall diameter between the stock and upgraded setup.(3mph diff on the speedo.)

No rubbing? You must be running factory ride height. Do you have any pics from straight behind the car so we see how far they stick out? I tried on a few evo wheels in 9 & 9.5 wide and they all stuck out enough to bug me.

pics are up what do you guys think? i originally wanted hyper black but the gold is growing on me.

I'm not a fan of gold rims, but I think they contrast/look better than black would on your car.

Since you asked for opinions. They stick out a little too far for my taste. But I think it will look a 100x better when u can get the car lowered some. Stock ride hight is nose bleed altitude on our cars. IMO, the only cars that look ok with wheels extending past the fenders are RWD muscle type cars.. Mustang, Viper ect.. or even some Supras. I think it looks better on cars like that because the tires are also a lot wider.. 275+. When you're limited to smaller tire width, if the wheels/tires stick out too far it looks like an old school ghetto low rider with that stupid "frog wheel" look. (not that yours looks that bad)
