18x8.5x40mm Offset

Gentlemen:
I did a search and came up with this info on the above wheel dims.
I want to run these wheels with 235/40/18's.
I have a White GST.
What do you think.

Oh I forgot to post the real question.
I want to lower my car with the Tein Basics to a height of 1.5 in front
and 1.2 in the rear.
What would be the max lowering capability with the above wheel tire combo?

About what you listed: 1.5 front, 1.25 rear. You need to stay a little to the high to keep the tires away from the fenders.

I think you may have to roll or cut your rear fenders esp if you will have to lower them more than 1.5" . 235s are a little on the wide side for the DSM.

About what I listed above. The rear had a tendency to rub slightly. Raising a couple of mm took care of it.

Rolling is escential, cutting is not recommended. 235's will fit without any trouble with 40 mm offset. Some 245's barely make it.

In your profile it says that you are running 245/40/18's.... is that correct?
I want to run 235/40/18 with the exact Falken tires you're running....
How do those hook up?

I'm quite happy with the tires. Although not quite as sticky as some others in the price range but I'm hoping to get more than a year out of them. They are smooth and quiet. I haven't done anything close to racing yet but I haven't gotten them to break loose corning in my semi-aggressive street driving style.
